Guest guest
Hi Shawn, It's Donna (from feral I remember you there also). The kombu is in a clear wrapped package and it's dried in flat slices about 2 inches wide. Whole Foods does sell it too, the Whole Foods in my area stocks with by the rice stick noodles and Asian snack mini crackers. It's usually from Japan but not always. I have a package from Korea at home right now and one from Hawaii. I love the added flavor it gives your soups and beans and it does cut down on the gas. It is sometimes spelled konbu, not the sale as dulse flakes. I have tried the potato in with the beans and it doesn't work........Hope you can locate it. Thanks to the person who mentioned Kombu. I was at an Asian market the other day and I was looking for something that I've heard folks mention before that tastes like the sea/salty. I saw tons of seaweed and sushi/sushimi wrappers but I couldn't remember what the product was called that I was looking for. Finally last night I remembered it was called, " dulse flakes " . Is that anything like Kombu? Shawn
Guest guest
Hi Donna. Thanks so much for the scoop on kombu. May I bug you with one more question? What kind of flavor does the kombu have (as well is it salty at all)? I think this is exactly like something that I'm looking for. I'm a soup nut and I always add veggie broth to soups, pots of beans, you name it. Again, thanks so much.
