Guest guest
I agree. I had a non-removable crock once and one time I burned chili in it so badly that we ended up having to throw out the crock. The one I have now is actually a crock that goes on top of a griddle type plate, and I can just throw the crock itself in the dishwasher. I love it! Guest guest
Hi Faith, Thanks for replying. I will just be cooking for one person but I want to make extra servings so I can freeze them. I am thinking maybe a 4 or 5 quart crockpot will be the right one. I broke the glass lid to my old one. I didn't use the old one very much and inherited it so it's very old. They certainly have a large variety in the stores from the simple ones to really fancy ones with all kinds of features. I did like that it had a removable crock in it. I am just reading " Eat to Live " with its ideas about food and improving your health and thought that a slowcooker would be the way to go to have meals made with beans. Guest guest
Hi Mary Ann, I cook for just me, and I use the biggest size crockpot--6 1/2 or 7 qts; I forget which it is. That sounds like it'd make a huge amount of food, but it seems to be the right amount so I have a couple of meals for the week in which I make the stew or soup, plus plenty to freeze. As far as features go--if you are gone all day, you may want a programmable crockpot so you can have it turn down its heat to warm after a certain number of hours. , " Mary Ann/mosinski0 " <mosinski@m...> wrote: > > > I will just be cooking > for one person but I want > to make extra servings so I can freeze them.
