Guest guest Posted April 10, 2005 Report Share Posted April 10, 2005 I have used a slow cooker since back in the 1970's and love it. The more you use it the more ideas pop into your mind. It's wonderful for soups of course, and sauces. But even things like baked potatoes can be made in them. One of my favorite summertime things is stuffed peppers. Yummy. Can't wait. I know what you mean about the glass lid. I've broken some in my day too :-( I always keep my eye peeled at yard sales for a extra one to keep around. The last one I picked up was plastic so that helps. I'd definitely get a 4-5 quart one. I often get mine so full just adding a little bit of this and that. It doesn't take long!
