Guest guest
Based upon perusing a number of sites I would guess that most places which say simply " savory " probably sell just " summer savory " . It seems only a few sites actually sell " winter savory " dried. You can find lots that will sell seeds or plants though. Guest guest
When I grew up (long ago - LOL), my mother made a me*t stuffing for the turkeys. Part of the ingredients was summer savory. She had what looked like a clump of bush she kept in a brown paper bag in the basement. When Thanksgiving or Christmas rolled around, she would go down and shake that clump over newspaper. Pick out any twig like parts and then use the rest in her recipe. I used to love that stuffin! I was the only one I knew who didn't have bread stuffing. I have thought I would like to add summer savory into dishes. But I haven't been able to find any, even at the farmers market in downtown Detroit! I see savory in the spice aisle at the store; but never " summer savory " Colleen
