Wow!! Thanks for the link. I never thought of using my bread

machine to do this, so since the arthritis has gotten worse, I've

stopped making it.

I noticed the recipe calls for nutritional yeast. I've wanted to try

nutritional yeast, but since I did the candida cleanse diets, I've

been afraid to consume any yeast. Any thoughts? Anyone else ever

been in the same boat?

BTW I love the Praise Seitan T-shirt!! I want one. ;)

Peace,

Di

I've read that nutritional yeast is non-candida. In my opinion, it has

an incredible taste. It might be worth trying to see how you react to it.

I've heard varying opinions on it. Perhaps I will try it and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Di, Glad you liked the link and the t-shirt. Cute, huh?

Now I have a question for you and the others who posted about

seitan. Do you think it could be made with bread flour? I

understand that bread flour has more gluten in it than regular

flour. Has anyone ever done this?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer about nutritional yeast and

candida. My feeling is that it would be harmless, but I really

don't know. I do love the way it tastes. I use it now mainly to

sprinkle on my popcorn.

One of these days I'm going to have to get over my fear of Seitan

and actually try to make some! LOL.

The only way i have ever made Seitan is with wheat GLUTEN!

I got the recipe off of the box of wheat gluten, and it was really good.

=)

I'm sure bread flour would work, but I'd imagine it would be more

time consuming and more work than using gluten.

I heard you can make it using whole wheat flour. I personally in the past have

used vital wheat gluten. This works well, but overkneading made it to chewy. I

am eager to try the recipe on that link you posted.

Di

You can, but you need to rinse the dough until all the starch is gone, which is

REALLY time consuming. With vital wheat gluten there's no starch, so it's a lot

faster. I'm gonna try this recipe today... I'm excited! It sounds so good.
