Guest guest
Here are the details, as I posted a few days ago to the group, maybe you did not see that message. Sunday 22nd June - Central London picnic meet up, jointly with other vegetarian and vegan groups, bring vegan food to share, Kensington Gardens, 1pm, near the Princess Diana playground, families especially welcome, contact Lesley, Lesley or 020 8941 8075, or 0793 1156006 on the day. We hope you can make it, either on your own or with your family, obviously bringing the whole family is very definitely recommended since we will be meeting near a playground, and if you want to come to the one in August in Regents Park that one it is especially for the veggie and vegan families, and we will decide soon on a suitable meet up point (probably again it will be near a playground). Nearest underground station for this Sunday is Queensway or Bayswater, the playground is in the far north-west corner of Kensington Gardens, which is just west of Hyde Park on the other side of the Serpentine. Streetmap did not show the playground but this map does and you can zoom in on it, http://www.royalparks.org.uk/docs/park_maps/KensingtonPKMAP.pdf The funny thing is that although I invited a wide variety of veggie and vegan people on several groups to meet up for this picnic, I expected that it would be mainly families who would want to come. Surprisingly so far we are fairly short of families on the list of people coming, which surprised me, and yet lots of people are coming along alone. No pressure on you though, I remember it was quite hard work travelling across London with small children, and it's a bit easier now they are all older. If you want to find some vegan families closer to you rather than coming into central London to meet up, you might like to also try contacting Karin Ridgers who has a young son and lives in Essex, I do not think she will be all that far from you. She can be contacted through Veggievision, which she runs. Guest guest
I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. I am just learning to cook really, and especially new to vegetarian cooking, but am really enjoying the learning experience. I am even starting to experiment a bit with recipes, and changing them in small ways....some day I will become more brave and maybe even make my own recipe up from scratch. For now, I am looking forward to learning from you! Trillium
