Guest guest
Rep. Kim Hong Shin , I am writing to protest the cruel treatment of dogs and cats in Korea. Every year millions of dogs and cats die a horrible death at the hands of butchers who sell the meat for human consumption. The methods of killing are unregulated and barbaric. I understand that the cruel treatment given to these animals is against the Korea Animal Protection Law, and therefore is an illegal act. In addition, according to the Ministry of Agriculture dogs and cats are not defined as livestock and cannot be treated as such. Under these rules, their butchery is also illegal. Further, according to the Ministry of Health, the human consumption of dogs and cats is illegal. I urge you to make every effort to uphold the existing laws that protect dogs and cats, and to introduce new legislation that clearly condemns the human consumption of these animals. I strongly urge you to stop the introduction of a new bill, which would include dogs, man's best friend, within the category of livestock production. I WILL NOT BUY KOREAN GOODS, SUPPORT KOREAN BUSINESS, VISIT KOREA, OR SUPPORT THE YEAR 2002 WORLD CUP UNTIL KOREANS STOP EATING DOGS AND CATS. Sincerely, anji barton -- _____________ Free email services provided by http://www.goodkarmamail.com powered by OutBlaze
