I love hearing about new vegan places to eat!!!

Check out the write up of a Vegan Restaurant Ive not yet tried.

Simons Wok- page 33 this weeks NOW magazine. Maybe we (in Toronto! sorry to

those out of TO) can all check it out sometime.

Its getting easier being green...

peace,

Bliss

Simon's Wok? Have you been there?

Last year ... I was in the area recording and I figured ... okay, it's going

to be cool ... all vegan stuff .. so, I asked for this fried rice ... and it

was loaded with bits of this fake salted fish ... the rice was very " jammed "

(very sticky) together ... and I asked for a few pieces of the fake meat ...

and it was kind of salty and tough and chewy .. maybe I am just not into the

Chinese Style fake meat thing ... when I go for Chinese or other Oriental

stuff, I usually do the tofu thing ... Garlic Pepper (Yonge and Wellesley)

for example has a great Vegetarian menu ... and Swatow (Spadina, just north

of Dundas - the place where you can get Cold Tea at 4 a.m.) ... while it has

a very limited veggie menu, has a kick ass vegetarian hot pot ...

But, by all means ... take NOW's word for it ... don't forget that their

readers voted Aida's the best falafel in the city for numerous years in a

row ...

and anyone that is serious about Falafel won't touch Aida's ... most of the

Jewish places make much better falafel (there was a great Lebanese place

called Jaffa House at Yonge and Eglinton, but it's since closed shop)

Jerusalem Restaurant (west of Bathurst on Eglinton) and Yerushalayim of Gold

(North of Finch on Bathurst) make amazing falafel ...

Anyone else know of some great places to get good shit in Toronto?

Oh, Amato, who in a lot of people's opinion, makes the best Pizza in the

city, now offers a vegan slice to go at all of it's locations!
