Guest guest Posted February 23, 2000 Report Share Posted February 23, 2000 Hallo, I'm new here so I thought I might introduce myself as Casey has done. My name is Alyssa and I'm 29 today-- woohoo! Anyway, I'm the proud mother of two children. 4 year old son, Chaz and 2 1/2 year old daughter, Asia. My husband and I just recently made the decision to go Vegan. Well, actually just recently (after Thanksgiving) we decided to go Vegetarian. My husband couldn't even bring himself to eat the turkey he had cooked. I guess years of calling meat 'flesh' and sneaking 'fake' meats into his meals paid off *eg* This is a lifestyle I've been thinking about for many years but it was much easier to make the final decision with my husband also joining forces. In November, I had surgery to remove cancer cells so I also believe we considered this lifestyle more after there were some health considerations. The more we looked into Vegetarianism the more we liked Veganism. So, here we are raising two Vegan children and very proud to do so. My son had his first asthma attack recently and I go to a Spiritual Healer (Chiropractor) that recommended I try cutting out his dairy. He really enjoys Rice milk and tofu cheese sandwiches. Its been great fun trying new foods and recipes. I feel that now we can look beyond ourselves at the big picture. The more I read these postings, the closer to Toronto I wish we were We are in Phoenix.
