Guest guest
I haven't fell off the vegan wagon but I HAVE been craving animal foods, especially cheese and milk. I have been thinking of how good things like meat and dairy used to taste sometimes and it is really unpleasent. Recently I read about how cow's milk often has pus in it from udder infections and this helped some, to think of pus when I crave milk soo..... I need you guys to gross me out! Tell me all the nasty things you know about animal products! I need sickening descriptions of rotting meat (I heard the reason why meat is tender is because it is decomposing) and horrmone laden milk. Anything to make me stop thinking of this stuff as yummy Sending me info about the suffering these animals go through would help too. Thanks everyone and have a great day. Maybe I can pass some of y'all's info onto my formerly vegan brother and he'll go back!! Love Mary Ann ===== " Lately it occurs to me...what a long strange trip it's been... Guest guest
Hi Mary Ann I can't remember how long ago it was that you said you became vegan, but I thought I'd share my experience. I had meat and protein cravings for about two months, but by the third month I'd only think about eating meat if I saw it (usually sushi). I find what dispelled the cravings best was thinking of how beautiful the animals could be if they weren't confined to pain and insanity. Pigs are as smart as dogs, some say, and I've met one who rolled over for a belly-rub at Farm Sanctuary. I think this pig was raised there since a piglet, but I even met a friendly one named rupert who had huge square scars all over his sides from being tested on for cosmetic surgery techniques. One cow came when Anji called him by name. Paul had a bonding moment with a cow named Snickers who seemed to really really like him and showed it in a cuddly way. Chickens act like chickens, what can I say, but they sure are cute when they run around and do their little chicken things. No less cute than a parakeet or a cockateil if you ask me. I've killed a lot of fish since I was a kid on fishing trips, but I've re-sensitized myself to the reality of the situation to a great extent. I remember being about six and not being able to put the worm on the hook, and not because it was slimy, but because it looked really painful when the worm squirmed like crazy and oozed slime when I inserted the hook. I also remember feeling really sorry for a fish I caught and wanting to put it back. I felt like that for a while, but one does what one's father tells them to do at that age. Maybe the grossest thing is to think about is how their flesh is not at all different from our flesh, and how it once served a much higher purpose - making an animal animate. Sorry, not very gross, but that's my inspiration. This seems like a strange way to lend support to someone, but for extra super sick grossness, know that in North America, cows can be fed ground up cows (that died before slaugher from disease or whatever and thus couldn't be sold to humans) and in many cases ground up pets that were euthanized. Apparently the feed contains euthanol and flee collar chemicals even after boiling and grinding and sifting and processing (brains and fur and bones and flee collars and all). Cows are also fed chicken shit and ground feathers for extra protein. You don't want to eat that second hand, do you? Kind regards, Anthony Mary Ann wrote: > Mary Ann <maryann23_1977 > > I haven't fell off the vegan wagon but I HAVE > been craving animal foods, especially cheese and > milk.
