I have been reading this list, and found it the most helpful, uncontentious and cheerful of all the vegan lists. Well I should probably introduce myself. My name is Carol, and I've been a vegan for 3 years, starting for dietary reasons. My interest and concern for animal rights has grown since then. Im slightly over 40, married to a sympathetic omnivore, and have 1 son. An enthusiastic gardener, I've been researching permaculture and growing " veganicly. " This means with only plantbased compost, and not using some of the cruelty laden byproducts such as bone meal, blood meal and animal fertilizers. Several good sites I will post later. The longer I'm a vegan, the more convinced I am of the responsibility we all have to care for the earth in a peaceful, and nonviolent way. Tall order, much work to be done.
