Geez I thought I had it bad.

My father gets annoyed with veganism sometimes just because it takes work

and he wonders of course if it is healthy.

I would really suggest that you tell your mother that SHE is the one forcing

herself on you and that you listen to her and you want her to listen to you

occassionally because you would like her to UNDERSTAND your choices more and

that you are in no way trying to get her to change her lifestyly and that

you know that is not going to happen. If you can get her to listen to you

for a conversation, I think you should be prepared. Go to plenty of

websites (I'm sure people on this list can give you some urls) that explain

articulatly how much healthier veganisim is and print out some information.

There are of course plenty of sites that show how gruesome consuming meat is

but you dont really want to make your mom feel like you are ACCUSING her

because she is never going to change more than likely. Your main objective

really is to let her know how healthy it is and how you are not comminting

child abuse by having your children live a vegan lifestyle. Then maybe

later you can ask her if she wants to know why you made your choice, and

that it is something that is very important to you and that she is also

important to you and you really wish you could talk to her about something

that is so important in your life. Writing her letters might be helpful and

when she asks why you are writing letters when you see each other every day

, you can tell her that it is the only way you can communicate with her on

this subject because you always feel she thinks you are attacking HER

lifestyle when you chat about it and you do not want her to fee this way.

Something I think was very interesting is Dr Spock's childcare book.

I pointed out to some people that this book IS NOT intended for vegans, it

is simply a doctor's views on how to raise a child. You do not see anything

about vegetarianism/veganism on the front or back covers or in the

description yet when you turn to the sections about meat, eggs, and dairy, he

informs you that he doesnt think these things are heatlhy and why very

briefly.

I hope any ideas I have may help.

Toni
