Guest guest
Alyssa & Linda, Viva! - Vegetarians International Voice for Animals - have a range of kids' books, merchandise and toys that might interest you. The organisation is very vocal in favour of animal rights and also offers (or encourages people) to do awareness talks in schools, and promotes vegetarianism/ veganism to young people. Peer pressure can work both ways! My daughter was delighted last year to get button badges, stickers, a pencil, a beanie badger and a mug for her (6th) birthday from there. Both my kids have joined Viva! and get a kids-oriented quarterly newsletter (same content as the adult one but more fun). http://www.viva.org.uk I don't know a lot about PETA, but they seem similar to Viva! in what they do, so they might have some kids' things too. As far as music goes, my only suggestion is some of the Girl Guide songs from around the world. Most of the songs tend to be about peace, love & compassion and cross cultural boundaries too. I have a tape from my Guide days called Canciones de Nuestra Cabaña: Songs from the Our Cabaña Songbook, which is probably still available at Guide shops or national headquarters. I still like to listen to it sometimes! Also some of the world music (pan pipes, etc) available these days might be suitable. Hope this helps.
