Guest guest
Book recommendation: " Fast Food Nation " by Eric Schlosser is an analysis and history of the fast food industry. It's a *fascinating* read -- I've only read about 1/3 of it so far, but the history of McDonalds, etc, is very interesting and it's entertainingly written. Best of all... reading this book made my friend go vegetarian! He heard about it on " Fresh Air, " a radio show, and the discussion of how that flame-broiled taste is made in a factory, etc., interested him. Then when he read the book, all the disgusting truths about the meat industry made him stop eating meat!! So I think it's a great " stealth " read -- people who are interested in social history can honestly enjoy it just for that, but I can't imagine any of them going back to Burger King after they read it either. I'm planning to buy a few copies for (non-veggie) history buffs in my family! ciao, dodo _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
