Guest guest
I just got off the phone with Peter Kellog's assistant. She said " SLK is just like a lot of the other investment firms out there, if a customer of ours wants to buy shares, then we allow it. We cannot deny our customers access to a certain stock. She failed to realize that several brokers, including Merrill Lynch, TD Waterhouse, Citibank, and HSBC have agreed to no longer deal in HLS. She also said, that they have been receiving hundreds of emails, faxes and letters and we were wasting a considerable amount of their time! She then hung up the phone on me! I guess we are getting to them... This just proves that SLK/Peter Kellog was willing to make up lies to stop people from contacting them/him. However, we have done our research and called their bluff! Keep the pressure on until they drop HLS. Until ALL are free, Joe IDA/SHAC -- Andrew Baker, Executive Chairman, of Huntingdon Life Sciences said " 2000 was certainly a challenging year. This (animal rights) campaign....certainly had a negative impact on orders and study starts during the fourth quarter and the early part of 2001. " . After reporting a loss of $15.5 million dollars for the year 2000! MAKE 2001 THE YEAR TO SMASH HLS! *please forward to other lists* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *****HLS: INVESTOR OF THE WEEK**** *SPEAR, LEEDS & KELLOGG* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ " I help prepare the doses for another experiment - it is an agrochemical toxicity test for a Japanese company. A lot of the tests in my department were testing for the toxicity of herbicides and fungicides. The man I am working with measures out the compound and I put it into capsules. He is meant to print out the weight of each dose on a computer so it can be checked. What he actually does is measure one dose correctly, print this out seven times and then make the next six doses for the week far more quickly and with less accuracy. This means the dogs are not getting the right dose: these experiments may be invalid...I'm finding it hard to watch these needles being repeatedly put into the dogs legs, over and over. One technician gets so angry when he can't find a vein that he shouts and quickly jabs the needle in repeatedly, often going right through the vein...Today I film the pictures of the animal technicians' pets on the wall - many of them talk non-stop about their lovely pets and then go back to work? " -an excerpt from Zoe Broughton's 1997 undercover investigation Every week there will be a week-long phone/e-mail blockade against one of HLS investors. Some of these investors will be big companies and others will be private investors. We will target a new investor each week. We need EVERYONE to take a few minutes each day and let these investors know that by supporting HLS, they are supporting animal abuse and torture. Show them that WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE! Let's hit them where it hurt-their pockets! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ WEEK SIX SPEAR, LEEDS & KELLOGG **HOLDING 1,032,101 SHARES** SLK just made their purchase into HLS this past December, this makes SLK the largest NEW investor Spear, Leeds & Kellogg is one of the industry's larger market-makers. It would be much more effective if they read a veriety of letters, not just a form letter. SAMPLE LETTER: I am writing to urge you to discontinue your investment with Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). Animals are sentient, living beings and should not be used for experimentation or anger relief for staff members. Since the publicity, I am certain you are now aware of the horrendous pain and suffering animals at Huntingdon endure. Tests which force the animals to consume toxic doses of various chemicals, inhale noxious fumes, and have caustic chemicals applied to their raw skin is horrendous. What is even more outlandish is documentation showing staff throwing beagle puppies against walls and punching them in the face. This is simply not good business. There are numerous companies discontinuing animal experimentation and instead, using computer simulations and the vast amount of previously accumulated data. You have the power and the ability to do something about the excruciating pain an annual 180,000 animals suffer. First, as an investor, you can demand they change their practices and you can demand the staff have psychological treatment. Second, you can cease your ownership of 1,032,101 shares of HLS stock and not invest in any other company practicing archaic and brutal animal research. I also encourage you to look beyond the bottom line when making future investments. Compassionate individuals, like yourself, with the gift of financial resources to invest can create long-term, far-reaching consequences toward a more benevolent world. ********************************************************************** For More Information: www.adl-online.com www.shac-usa.net www.stephenskills.com www.bankofnykills.com **********************************************************************
