Guest guest
On September 11, 2001 our freedom as Americans was threatened. Thousands upon thousands of people in the twin towers, and Pentagon. These terrorist were not just attacking New York, or the United States military, they were attacking us as a person, and our values. For four days I have sat in front of the television speechless, not communicating to any of you regarding anything. I have been reading e-mails, talking with friends, family, and Love All Animals volunteers. As a 15 year old boy, I am shocked, this is the first war I have been old enough to remember, and this is the worst act of terrorism the United States of America has experienced. Since I could speak I have promoted compassion. I have promoted compassion to all living things, human and non-human. This terrorism in the past week has deeply saddened me, and scared me. But it has encouraged me to work harder. Now more than ever I understand how strong of message compassion is and how strong we need to make our message. This act has made me want ,more than ever, to make CompassionFest the most compassionate event ever to take place in the world. If people have compassion to living things, there should never be an act like this happen again. So as I pray for the people that died in this act, for the families left behind, for the rescue workers spending days of physical work in the heat, and for our world leaders, I ask you to pray with me. I also ask that you show your dedication to the United States by placing an American Flag in your front yard, donate to the American Red Cross, or other charitable organization, or light a candle and place it in your window at night. The world needs to be shown that we will continue our life as usually. We will also grow stronger from this experience. People can knock down our buildings, but they cannot knock down our freedom. God Bless America!
