UK Allows Research Bosses to Hide Home Addresses

LONDON (Reuters Health) - Pharmaceutical research company directors, under

threat of violence or intimidation from animal rights activists, will be able to

keep their home address private under new draft regulations published on

Wednesday by the UK government.

 

The measure was welcomed by the pharmaceutical industry, which demanded

protection after the Cambridgeshire-based animal testing company Huntingdon Life

Sciences (HLS) was nearly forced to closure after its staff and its bankers were

targeted by animal rights activists.
