Guest guest
Today is a sad day in the history of the animal rights movement. Animal rights activists from all across the country and world, were attacked today at a protest in Little Rock, Arkansas. Multimillion dollar companyand main financial supporter of Huntington Life Sciences; Stephen's Inc., was protested today at their headquarters. A day that could have gone down in history as the biggest peaceful demonstration in our country, will go down as the biggest disaster in the Animal Rights movement. About 10 activists were arrested today between 4 - 4:30. We are unsure of how many others were arrested. We have received reports from all over that an activist named Josh Harper, was shot in the face with a rubber bullet. Although he was seriously injured, he continued to march in protest. Activists climbed over barricades, and got out of hand. I am aware that I sent out a letter a month and a half ago calling for a full -- out campaign against HLS and Stephen's Inc., I am also aware that I said that I would do anything to bring HLS down. I regret saying that now, I won't do anything. I will draw the line where policemen feel so threatened that they have to use tear gas. That not more than almost two months ago the United States was hit with the biggest attack on it's homeland. Where we should be praying that we are alive, and that we live in such a wonderful country, and that our country is in the highest state of alert right now, right now in this time, Animal Rights Activists, decide to cause terror and havoc on the city of Little Rock. This is not going to cut it. Our movement needs to take a step back and reanalyze itself. What happened today is not acceptable. If we have to force Stephen's to drop it's financial back of HLS from Terrorism, and Fear, then we are no better than the lowest form of life. We need Stephen's to drop financial back because of what they are doing to animals. We need to speak in a unified voice, and not with terror. Today doesn't cut it. Our movement, the animal rights movement, needs to be about compassion towards all living creatures. We are all animals, and we need to show each other compassion too. I ask you to pray for all those at the protest tonight. That they may be healed from what ever wounds they have acquired, but most importantly, that somehow they can have compassion fill there heart, and that that compassion can be shown to ALL living things.
