Guest guest Posted November 30, 2001 Report Share Posted November 30, 2001 as salaamu alaykum, 8 days ago the most amazing thing happened to me - my wife gave birth to our daughter. This has as you can imagine made me the happiest man around but unfortunatly i've also become very anxious. You see our baby was supposed to be breastfed but unfortunately it has transpired that this just isnt possible (for medical reasons). As we are vegan we naturally do not wish to use cows formula milk to feed our baby so we are using soya at the moment. Unfortunatley as you can imgaine i am pretty vulnerable to scare tactics against the vegan diet for our child since she was born very small (5 pounds). Basiclly i just need reasurrance that it is ok to bring a baby up in soya milk and if there are any parents who have brought up their baby vegan to please get in touch. I should have looked into this prior to the birth but i just taken it for granted that our child would be breastfed.
