Announcement for the list:

Meatout 2002 is only 11 days away! If you've already registered your event,

please disregard this message. Otherwise, it's not too late to plan an event

and join with hundreds of people in the US and worldwide to promote the message

of compassion and good health. We encourage you to get involved, even if only

for an hour or two. We will provide posters, banners, leaflet masters, and

'Kick the Meat Habit' brochures. Three suggested simple events are listed

below:

1. Workplace Feed-In. On your way to work on March 18 or 19, pick up some soy

lunch 'meats,' veggie burgers, or soy dogs, a jar of mustard, and a loaf of

sliced bread or buns. Put them out on your workplace or dorm lunch table with

the 'Kick' brochures and place the poster and sign behind.

2. Retail Outreach. Get your local health food store or coop to place a poster

in the window and the 'Kicks' by the checkout counter.

3. Exhibit. Display a poster, sign, and 'Kicks' in your local library or student

union. If you get ambitious, we can send you additional posters and large color

photos.

Currently over 450 events in the US and 19 other countries are listed on the

Meatout Events Page (http://www.meatout.org/html/meatout_events.html). Please

register *your* event today, so it can be listed among the others. Registering

an event (and requesting materials) can be done easily at

http://www.meatout.org/html/mo-contact.html. Or call 1-800-MEATOUT and we'll

register the event for you.

Two more points worth noting: 1) You are not bound to have your event on March

20, although that is the " official " day of Meatout. Having an event on the

weekend before or after March 20 is a great idea if you're busy during the week.

2) You are not limited to having just one event on one day - have as many as

you like!

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Norbert Banholzer
