Guest guest
The hogs of Spring Brook By John Fleming Associated Editor 03-17-2002 ...Since the residents filed their case, Ben Gregoria, Bryant’s next-door neighbor, has shot hours of videotape of the Diamond Meat operation. Gregoria filmed the entrails and blood and body parts of hogs being dumped into the render truck and the piles of dead pigs littering the slaughter yard. And in November of 2000, Gregorio captured workers on videotape dragging a large sow with a chain behind a forklift from one side of the compound across a parking lot inside the slaughterhouse. She is clearly still alive and conscious, struggling as the forklift briefly halts before entering the slaughterhouse. The federal 1978 Humane Slaughter Act says, “the dragging of disabled animals and other animals unable to move, while conscious, is prohibited.” http://www.annistonstar.com/opinion/2002/as-insight-0317-jfleming-2c15u3557.htm -- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
