> a reality. We have been successful in obtaining funding for all

> equipment and most operating expenses for a four-month continental

> expedition covering 35 states/provinces and spanning Sept. 8, 2002

> and Jan. 7, 2003.

> The tour will follow two parallel campaign-tracks – anti-hunting

> and

> vegan-advocacy. These tracks will be kept separate so that they do

>

> not eclipse each other in the media arena, and cover as broad a

> public spectrum as possible. While HOPE-GEO founder Anthony Marr

> will oversee and conduct both campaigns, Toronto activist Brandy

> Humes will be the tour's dedicated vegan advocacy campaigner.

> While vegan-advocacy is universal, anti-hunting is species and

> country specific. The strategy of the latter is to apply external

> pressure on Canada, especially BC and NFLD, to stop the grizzly

> bear

> hunt and the commercial seal hunt respectively, and on Japan and

> Norway to stop their whaling and dolphin slaughter activities. We

> will also address related issues such as animal experimentation,

> vivisection, fur trapping, and of course factory farming and fur

> farming.

> We aim at maximizing media coverage in every state/province we

> visit

> on both campaigns. We expect to generate over 400

> newspaper/magazine articles plus TV and radio coverage – per

> hunters and meat advocates in each state to town-hall and

> show debates. They will also endeavour to organize local

> · a 20-200 mm zoom SLR optical camera

> In each state and city on the tour, the RV and the trailer can be

> separated to cover different locations, topics, audiences and media

>

> simultaneously. The FaunaVision and the slide projector can work

> in

> concert, the former to raise instant emotion, and the latter to

> disseminate information and organize action. The cameras will be

> used to photo/video-record the expedition with the view to produce

> a

> documentary subsequently.

> The FaunaVision equipment will be fully functional by May 19,

> Sunday, in time for the 9:30 a.m. media conference of the YEAR OF

> THE HORSE - PARADE OF COMPASSION in Vancouver against the Pregnant

> Mare Urine (PMU) industry and the use of the drug PREMARIN.

> Between late May and late August 2002, the FaunaVision will be used

> for summer outreach work in BC. One summer campaigner is needed to
