Guest guest
hi all. i've been in this group in the past, but found it to loaled with pass-along mails and chain letters that don't really strike a chord on me. still, i'm back. i and others here in portugal (that's southern europe, next to spain but NOT spain) have build up a site at www.veganismo.net which is basically for portuguese readers but includes some info in english. for the time beiing (mispelled?) it has a list of vegan friendly restaurants in the country but will have more data in the future. Anyone thinking about visiting portugal can now have some info on the country. cheers all, pedro homero

Pedro, you have a great web site, and I admire you for being Vegan in Portugal. I spent a month in Spain (Andalucia) last year, and found Spanish cuisine to be strongly meat-based. Eating in restaurants (as I was mainly doing) was a challenge. I imagine that Portuguese food would be similar -- is that correct? Have you considered sending details of your web site to the UK Vegan society? Portugal is a popular holiday destination for British people, and they might like to publish your URL in their quarterly magazine. You can find their email address on their web site at <http://www.vegansociety.co.uk> Gerry
