Guest guest
B " H I would assume that a good place to start would be with fiber, vitamin C (complex) and Beta-Carotene (and other carotenoids). I am reminded of a story -- once upon a time (ok, about 9 years ago), a doctor said to me, " what would you say if I told you that unless you eat meat again you'll never be totally healthy again. " I shrugged my shoulders and said, " well, then I guess I'll never be totally healthy again. " He asked me if I didn't want to think about that and get back to him and I said, " no, I've been making decisions in my life for the past 16 or 17 years based on this, I don't think another night will change my mind. " -- 9 years later and I can tell you -- it didn't ;-) Debbie hey, i was wondering if you guys would help me shut somebody up. I have a friend who argues that meat is a perefect food, that you could survive on it alone...funny, i know (my arguement is that spinach would be a better choice.) can any of you please list some nutrients, etc. that meat does not contain? I know vit. c as well as essential non fatty acids, i think, but i need more concrete, scientific proof. thanks, robert
Guest guest
Okay..here's some more elements the perfect food misses: Carbohydrates - our main body fuel is glycogen. Mineral salts - someone on an all-meat diet would be dangerously low in electrolytes. Calcium, copper, and vitamins A, D and E requirements probably would not be met on an all-meat diet. Not to mention hundreds of antioxidants and phytochemicals. Also, tell your friend that like other large carnivores, when consuming his 'prey', the first thing he'll have to go for is the stomach, since it contains the digested plant matter to solve his vitamin problems. Once he's filled up on that, he can move on to the rest of the dead body. He should also eat it raw, it'll be much healthier that way (relatively speaking.) Best to eat it quickly since it'll start to putrefy rapidly and he'll be competing with maggots. Yum!! - Dave
Guest guest
And don't forget all the other wonderful things that meat gives you like high uric acid, steroids, tons of fun and deadly bacteria, antibiotics and a bad case of corpse breathe. Most meat eaters just like to make arguments like this to drive us nuts. They will argue fallacies with a vengeance and at some point you need to smile, take stock in how light your soul is and walk away to enjoy the day. That's just my opinion. I have friends that always want to debate but don't have or want the facts. Good luck! , Robert Bailey <kirstie@i...> wrote: > hey, i was wondering if you guys would help me shut somebody up.
