Guest guest
Hi all, I am new to this list. As referred to in a previous post about Liquor I have found that both Rum and Whisk(e)y often use bone charcoal in their respective filtration processes. My guess is that this is just as common as in the manufacture of table sugar. Here are some on line-sources: http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/anima/heasan/disemala/bse_rpt_e.shtml http://www.ebonex.com/b_cha.htm http://www.rogerssugar.com/overview/vancouver.html http://www.wpl.lib.oh.us/AntiSaloon/print/whisky.html http://www.mawer.clara.net/theprocess.html It is probably best to refer to a given manufacturers site (and send them some good old down home feedback)on this unnecessary and economically limiting practice. In the meanwhile I'll stick to microbrew Gary gary_malcolm Health - Feel better, live better http://health.
