Guest guest
Hi everyone I sent this email and I encourage you to all do the same! Peace, Bliss <corey fur for dogs Hi there I noticed your website and the beaver fur you use for your coats for dogs. ( <A HREF= " http://www.chicdog.com/furcoats.htm) " TARGET= " _new " ><FONT COLOR= " BLUE " >http://www.chicdog.com/furcoats.htm)</FONT></A> Are you aware that the real Canadian beaver fur you are using increases the demand for the trapping and drowning of these wild creatures that are an essential and beautiful part of Canada's ecosystem ? Trappers wait to catch and kill beavers until the fall, not because they are waiting until all their young are born (or out of kindness), but because in the fall they can get more money for the beaver fur. Its thicker in the fall just like dogs fur gets thicker in preparation for our long Canadian winters. The trappers that are being paid for these pelts are looked down on by the ministry of Natural Resources as cruel and barbaric people. They have to use the crudest traps because beavers are not easy to outwit. They are extremely intelligent and build dams and mud walls just about anywhere with almost anything. Recently I have become fascinated by this one beaver that has moved into my Dads property. The speed of which it builds and creates is astounding. It's way smarter than a dog! They are so wondrous and yet here you are, supporting their cruel demise! Canadian Legislature does not directly prevent trappers from continuing their cruel practices but fortunately the demand for beaver fur is dying out. When people stop the demand for their skins, the supply will cease. I ask you, is it really necessary to have FUR COATS for animals WHO ALREADY HAVE FUR COATS? Leather, is a byproduct of the meat industry which unfortunately is a part of society. Fur on the other hand, especially fur for animals IS RIDICULOUS and UNNECESSARY. If you were to use FUN FUR in your designs (which is cheaper, more versatile and colorful!) I would applaud you for your hipness and creativity. I might even support your business and buy a coat! Unfortunately though, real animal fur is an archaic echo of past days when people had no regard for the environment or our ecosystems. Would you reconsider your approach? If not for the respect for animals and to end cruelty, then would you reconsider this to move your fashion ideas into this decade? I implore you to consider this change. I'm sure it would be a profitable and a sound upgrade that your present and future customers would enjoy. I know I would. Sincerely, Nadine Carpenter.
