(Reuters/Zogby) - With nutritionists continuously analyzing American eating habits, the latest Zogby America discovered that one in three respondents have at least tried meat substitutes. The survey of 1,205 adults nationwide showed that while 60.6% have not tried a meat substitute, another 37.8% said they have eaten meat substitutes. More people in the West have tried meat substitutes, (44.6%), compared to 37.1% in the East, 36.9% in Central and 34.2% in the South. Suburbanites (41.2%) slightly lead large and small cities (37% and 36% respectively) in trying the meat alternatives. Whites and African-Americans have tried more meat substitutes (39%) compared to 18.3% Hispanics who admit to sampling the products.
