I pass them along because you never know who it might reach..and even if one is saved it's worth it. Shell FORWARDED MESSAGE: My elderly parents have always been huge animal lovers. They took in a pregnant stray cat and the liters started flowing. They now have 20+ cats. My mother is sick and unable to care for them. I have offered to take them to the animal shelter but she won't hear of it. She knows they will be killed and does not want them hearded, scared and alone to their deaths. I also offered to take them and leave them out in the woods near a stream so they could at least have a chance to make it, but I also love animals and worry about what might happen to them. One is afflicted (I assume because of the inbreeding)and they are not animials people would want to adopt. They are infested with ear mites and fleas. I know this is a tragic situation, and should have been stopped before it ever began, but like they say hind-sight is 20-20. My mother lives with tremendous guilt and grief over the situattion, which started out as a way to help a homeless cat. I don't need lectures. I need good, humane advice. What would their best chance be to live - should they be taken to the animal shelter where they will most assuredly be killed, or should I let them go in an area where hopefully they might have some kind of chance. We love these animals dearly but my mom is unable to take care of them, I have already taken 2 of them, but can not find homes for the rest. PLEASE, PLEASE, what should I do to provide them their best chance possible to survive. Does anybody possibly know of any people with farms in Knoxville, TN who might be willing to let the animals live on their property. I DESPERATELY NEED SOME ADVICE. I also sent her the names of two cat rescue groups in her state..but permanent homes or foster homes are really what is needed here. Even if you can not help please cross-post. thanks) --- End forwarded message ---
