Guest guest
You are correct, Morrissey is indeed a Vegetarian & has been for many years. He was recently mentioned in Peta's magazine Animal Times, they gave him " Purrs " for adding The Smith's song Meat is Murder back into his shows. The animal sounds that you hear in the beginning of Meat is Murder are actual sounds from inside a slaughterhouse. I think this is an excellent song - very powerful & to the point. Of course this is coming from a long time Smiths/Morrissey fan <<<<<Clark Freifeld <clark <<<<<<Vegetarians & Music Supposedly Morrissey of the Smiths is a vegetarian--they have that song " Meat is Murder. " Regarding " Meat is Murder " by the Smiths: the song opens with cow mooing sounds. Some of the lyrics: ,...this beautiful creature must die...and death for no reason is murder...and the flesh you so fancifully fry is not succulent tasty or kind(?), it's death for no reason, and death for no reason is murder. And the cows that you carve with a smile...is murder....and the turkey you festively slice...is murder...etc. It's a pretty depressing song; probably not a great anthem, but interesting.
