Guest guest
Is there such a category of person as an " ethical natural hygienist " ? I ask this because, as nearly all of us probably know, there are ethical vegetarians who believe, not only that it is wrong for them to eat animals, and perhaps even animal products (ethical vegans), but also wrong for others to do the same, since they believe in objectivity in ethical issues - that the moral reasons for their being vegetarian or vegan are objective reasons, not merely grounded in personal preferences. There are also natural hygienists, often dietary vegans who believe that their personal health choices result from objective relations that their bodies have with the world, but with respect to the outcomes that their food choices have on their own bodies. Both positions believe in physical objectivity, and that their judgments about the physical state of affairs that precedes their food choices and that result from their food choices make each food choice objectively significant, and the ethical vegetarian would also argue that there are objective ethical qualities to their moral decisions about whether or not they affect others. I wonder whether or not there are " ethical natural hygienists " who hold that it is objectively WRONG for them or others to combine food so that their bodies suffer, or so that they get sick from eating wrong amounts of the wrong foods in the wrong combinations. Whatcha all think, eh? msc
