Guest guest
Please COPY and PASTE the letter below, add your name to the petition, and forward it to as many people as you can. If, by chance, you have alread received this from another source, please forgive the duplication. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE Robby, an 11-year-old Belgian Malinois, will be killed in less that 6 months. He is not sick. He has not done anything wrong. Why? --- because Robby is a professional military working dog. What this means is that when Robby i retired by the military he will be euthanized based on military policy which states: such dogs after their years of service as military K-9 officers trained to sniff out explosives and drugs are euthanized when they retire. In military terms, retire means euthanized. Even though Robby's handler, Shawn Mathey, wants to adopt Robby, the military plans to go ahead with the plan. For more information, see Laura Denger's article in the July 16th edition of the Dayton Daily News. If you are the 100th person to sign this petition, please forward this message to: CAPT.LJFITZHARRISIVLJ and to George Voinovich at VOINOVICH.SENATE.GOV I WANT TO JOIN THE SAVE ROBBY CAMPAIGN TO STOP THE USELESS KILLING OF RETIRED MILITARY ANIMALS. 1. Guest guest
I sent an email to the two officials listed below that this petition is supposed to be sent to, but both came back to me undeliverable. I suspect their addresses may not be accurate. Regretfully, I think circulating this petition without accurate addresses to send it to, is a waste of time. I certainly think this is a worthy cause, and I would be happy to send my signature along with this petition if I could be confident that it would arrive at its destination. Anyone got any ideas of how to get correct addresses to sent it to? Deborah Please COPY and PASTE the letter below, add your name to the petition, and forward it to as many people as you can. Guest guest
Thank you for letting us know about this. Just so everybody knows, however, I don't particpate in internet petitions that involve forwarding email. Internet forwarded petitions can sometimes be hoaxes and even if not, they can clog up servers and never really result in much. For example, one college woman started a petition protesting the treatment of women in Afghanistan with very good intentions, but ended up getting 100's of thousands of emails of MANY repeated names and had her account permanently shut down by her school. There are a lot of sites that host petitions and people can write individual emails and letters. However, I thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I'm not sure where this originated. Hopefully it's not a hoax. It does seem to be quite a better idea to put petitions on web pages. --jack
