Colleen from Regina Animal Rescue needs our help desperately.

Colleen had her house destroyed by fire...no insurance. She

currently has 60 animals on her property she is contining to help

despite the fact she has no home. She is fearful for the winter for

the animals. She can't always pay the water bill and/or dog food

for the animals....she is desperate. She has been given the

runaround from every agency from the Red Cross to the United Way.

This woman has lives in her hands that need to be protected from

this coming winter...she has no home, no utilities, very little of

anything, except a big heart, hope and prayers.

 

PLEASE...I beg you to find a way to help. She lost all her crates,

etc and needs our help. All of us have resources we could spare....

volunteers to help, contacts that could maybe get the barest of

mobile homes donated, money to pay the water bill etc.

 

Colleen is still caring for the animals and living on a shoestring.

She called me because of an available husky that needs a home

desperately after recovering from a gun shot wound.

 

Maybe there is a way to band together to get donations for her, food,

shelter....come on folks...there are 60 lives depending on her. We

need to help her so she continue her work. ANY and all suggestions,

contacts of folks to contact or have them call her. I don't want her

to run up her phone bill either.

Maybe local rescue groups can take some of the animals to help her

out...corporate sponsors for food and animal supplies. There has to

be a way to help her continue to help these animals! Please post to

every list you can find. Somewhere somehow, there is a way to get

her and the animals help that they so desperately need.

 

IF anyone can foster this husky, Nanook she has or at the very least

go and get him...I will take care of the rest.

That acetaminophen may help relieve your headache, but did you know

that pain killers and other common medications can be deadly to your

animal companions? The ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center

(NAPCC) urges all pet owners to keep prescription and over-the-

counter drugs--such as cold medicines, diet pills, antidepressants

and vitamins--in closed cabinets out of their animal companions'

reach.

 

This includes herbal supplements, too. The label may read " all

natural, " but that doesn't mean it can't harm your pet if

accidentally ingested,

cautions NAPCC's Dr. Jill A. Richardson in " Bad Medicine, " a recent

article found online at VetCentric.com. A popular herb-based diet

aid has in fact been the cause of numerous poisonings. " It contains

ma huang, which is like herbal ephedrine, and guarana, which is like

caffeine, " Richardson explains in the article.

 

" We've had so many horrible cases of that, " Richardson says,

including a miniature pinscher who had ingested somewhere between 30

to 50 of the pills--about 7 times the smallest lethal dose. In this

unfortunate instance, the animal died, but Richardson stresses that

most pets have a good chance of recovery if the owner seeks help

immediately. In addition to offering information online at

round-the-clock telephone assistance.

Please read the story of Molly Browne and please spread the word for

her...Molly Browne is an Australian cattle mixed female dog. She is a

sweet dog, but NO ONE wants to adopt her because she has permanent

scars on her from her 1st owner who threw boiling water on her when

she was mating with another dog. A nice old lady took Molly from this

horrible person and gave her a loving home. Unfortunately, the old

lady died....Molly Browne lost her sweet home. Now, she is in the

small & cold, smelly shelter, waiting for her turn... I met a lady

who lives in VA, told me she will take any dog who needs urgent help.

Yes, she said ANY DOG. Unfortunately, before Molly got a chance, she

met the other dog who also was facing a put to sleep situation and

she decided to save this dog' s life. How sweet she is.....after she

decided to help the dog, she got e-mail from someone who asked her

about Molly...was a bit too late...again, Molly lost her chance. So,

please spread the word for this poor girl. She is currently in NJ but

transport will possibly be arranged. Please let me (Yuki) know if you

know anyone who can give her sweet home where she can relax and be
