Guest guest
PETA Action Alerts - September 11, 2000 Source-PETA Stop Three Puppy Mills From Opening in Pennsylvania Your immediate assistance is needed to help stop a puppy-breeding operation from opening in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Some breeding kennels and puppy mills are notorious for cruel living conditions--dogs are bred repeatedly and often kept crowded outdoors in tiny wire cages, filled with feces and urine, and left to suffer from the elements and a lack of veterinary care. (For more information about the horrors of puppy mills, please visit http://www.HelpPuppies.com/nc/index.html.) But even the least offensive breeding operations are churning out more and more animals while wonderful dogs have to be killed for lack of good homes. Warwick Township zoning officials will be considering a request from Curvin Rutt, of Lititz, to operate a dog-breeding kennel. The hearing will be held in September. If you have an opinion as to whether or not this outfit should go forward, please contact: Dan Zimmerman, Township Manager Warwick Township Municipal Bldg. 315 Clay Rd. Lititz, PA 17543 Fax: 717-626-8901 Please also mention that the proliferation of puppy breeders in Lancaster County taints the area's attractiveness as a tourist spot. Politely insist that the following county agencies take responsibility for the immeasurable suffering that many of these facilities cause: Paul Thibault County Commissioners' Office P.O. Box 83480 Lancaster, PA 17608-3480 thibault and Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Visitors' Bureau 501 Greenfield Rd.
