Guest guest
Boycott Abercrombie & Fitch From Rescue Me, An Avian Sanctuary Monday, September 25, 2000 ARK, VA - Abercrombie & Fitch ( " A & F " ) recently opened the first of its new line of clothing stores, Hollister's, in Columbus, OH, Kansas City, MO and other major cities. These stores appeal to the Generation-X demographic and feature blaring alternative music and dim lighting; all of which appeal to their customer base. These stores have also added a Macaw and a Maine Coon cat in each store as advertising display items. The macaw is kept in a round cage in the middle of the store with barely enough room to open its wings and no way to escape prodding fingers and the assault of amplifiers on it's extremely sensitive hearing. Many letters to A & F have resulted in a form reply which states in part: " . . .we were trying to envision the most ideal working and shopping experience. We wanted our customers to love coming in and our employees to look forward to coming to work. " A web site (http://home.talkcity.com/DianaDr/britlobo/A & F.htm) has been created with a petition which will allow signers to express their dissatisfaction with A & F in their own words. We are urging all environmentally conscious, animal caring individuals to participate. Boycott Abercrombie & Fitch and all of their subsidiaries until they respect the rights of those without voices.
