Guest guest
Hi again Susy; While we are talking about transporting your cats, I thought I would add a bit more about that. I think the best thing is to put them in a cat kennel container for the trip, either together or separately depending on how they feel about each other. My experience with traveling with cats is that they settle faster when they cannot move around much. If they have the freedom of the whole car, they usually try to investigate every square inch of it looking for an escape route once the car starts to move. They usually settle only once they have convinced themselves they are stuck for the duration, therefore a smaller space is easier on everyone! Most cats don't much like car rides at first, so make sure the container is tightly fastened as they usually try to claw their way out if they can. For that reason, a cardboard box is insufficient, they would be out in seconds. For safety reasons alone, their's and your's, they need to be secured to prevent them from distracting you or getting in the way. Kennels can be seat belted into the seat which is even better. And, I understand that it is necessary to keep cats IN the house for a minimum of 2 weeks after a move to prevent them from trying to return home. Deborah Has anyone ever used Rescue Remedy on their cat? If so, how did you administer it & how much did you give? What kind of effect did it have on your cat? I'm going to be moving from TX to NY next week & my 2 cats (ages 3 & 13) are driving up with me, I'm thinking about giving them some Rescue Remedy but I haven't decided yet. Any " testimonies " would be greatly appreciated Suzy Post message: Subscribe: - Un: - List owner: -owner Shortcut URL to this page: /community/
