Guest guest
LETTER RE: PROSECUTION OF ZOO EMPLOYEES SOURCE: http://www.peta-online.org/alert/00/82.html SEND LETTERS TO: Mr. Jaime Esparza District Attorney 500 E. San Antonio El Paso, TX 79901 Tel.: 915-546-2059 Fax: 915-533-5520 SAMPLE LETTER: Dear Mr. Esparza: I am writing in reference to an incident which took place at the El Paso Zoo in December of 1999. A video showed an elephant, restrained by all four legs, being repeatedly beaten by zoo workers with wooden bats. Although the zoo director was forced to resign and the USDA charged the zoo with violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act , the zoo workers who beat this defenseless animal still have not faced animal cruelty charges. I urge you to prosecute the zoo employees to the full extent of the law. Zoo employees should not be exempt from animal cruelty laws. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, --end of sample letter-- NOTE: The elephant now lives at an elephant sanctuary.
