Guest guest
Do the same things thart are done for World Vegetarian Day. Send out press releases about the health benefits of plant-based diets. Get information from various US websites. www.PCRM.org www.FARMUSA.org and www.IVU.org Make a list of famous Scottish vegetarians and vegans. What about that actor from the prize-winning movie " Babe " ? Emphasize the many vegetarians and vegans in the UK. Have a speaker -- get local officials to give public proclamations for " World Vegan Day " -- check out what FARMUSA does with regard to press releases. etc. FOCUS ON ISSUES THAT AFFECT HUMANS DIRECTLY, AND SHOW THE MORE DIRECT BENEFITS FROM VEGAN FOOD AND LIFESTYLE CHOICES ... Emphasize the importance of nonviolence as a social ethic, and how the way we treat persons in general (including nonhumans) conditions our personalities, and thus conditions the way we make decisions about human society, and how the alternative, of tolerating and accepting and incorporating violence into ourselves makes us less fully who we could or ought to become, and is physically both dangerous and costly for the society. Therefore, being vegan in a wholesome and socially responsible way IS in the society's long-term interest -- and is NOT in any way contrary to the society's best long-term interests. We have less than a week to go to prepare a campaign here. Maynard S. Present the public meal as one way that vegans, vegetarians, and those exploring veganism are welcome to share fellowship in a wholesome vegan-friendly setting.
