Vegan’s “Overwhelm” Mc Vities

Strict Vegetarians or Vegans who eat no animal products at all including milk

products, eggs and honey have forced the manufacturers of Linda McCartneys foods

to change a recipe after they put buttermilk in it.

A spokesperson at Scotland The Green © Vegetarian Travelguide said today “The

decision to include a dairy product in a former Vegan dish was a dangerous one.

Many children are allergic to dairy products and have been known to die when a

product thought to be Vegan has been unwittingly fed to them”

“Many food products contain Dairy Industry waste and by products hidden under

the guise of whey powder, skimmed milk powder, cassienate, Lactic acid and other

disguises. Many of these ingredients are totally unnecessary or have Vegan

equivalents. It surely makes more sense to avoid alienating sections of your

market like vegans, Milk allergics, or Jews who can’t mix meat and Dairy at the

same meal when alternatives are available. We are very relieved that Mc Vities

have now agreed to review the situation and that they are now hopefully

successfully “Vegducated”

We are also running a competition to try to find the best Vegan food in Scotland

which is proving much harder than anticipated.Tel Tony 01854 655282
