Dear Vice President Dr. Speciosa,

 

I was shocked and outraged to learn that authorities in Iganga

district have started shooting stray dogs indiscriminately because of

an apparent rabies problem. There are several dogs running loose and it

is estimated that only a small percentage of those are rabid. One way

of making sure that people don't get rabies is to get a pre-exposure

(preventive) rabies vaccine. Also, all the stray dogs should be rounded

up and vaccinated against rabies. I urge you to immediately halt the

cruel killings and find a humane alternative.
