I have a synthetic down comforter that is WONDERFUL! It's a material called

Primaloft. Primaloft has the likeness (not lumpy) and warmth of goose down

without losing any of its insulation qualities when wet (like goose down

does). This is handy if purchasing a sleeping bag filled with Primaloft. It

is also hypoallergenic. Unlike down and other synthetics, Primaloft is

machine washable and will not bunch up. Primaloft was originally developed

for the US Army. I bought my comforter off of eBay at a fraction of the cost

of a " real " down comforter. In my opinion, it is superior to goose down in

every way. I highly recommend it. Sherry

I agree. I'm pretty sure that is what my sleeping bag is filled

with. I paid full price for it (yikes!), several years ago now,

but I really need a super warm bag when camping, and it is!

It's interesting isn't it, how military applications have brought

these useful and innovative applications to the rest of us. I

have heard that it was for military communication that the

internet was invented.
