Re: Do not approve the export of minke whale blubber and meat!

Prime Minister Stoltenberg:

It has recently come to my attention that the Norwegian government has

announced that it will approve the export of minke whale blubber and

meat under certain conditions. I urge you to reverse this decision.

Any trade involving whale products would be disastrous for whales around

the world. Moreover, whale meat and blubber are high value commodities

and Norwegian trade would provide the cover for pirate whalers who catch

all species, regardless of how rare they are. In other words, Norwegian

export cannot be considered in a vacuum.

I appreciate that there is no export today and hope that this does not

change.

Sincerely,
