Toronto Sportsmen's Show Protests

Sponsored by the Sierra Club of Eastern Canada

Sat. March 10

10 a.m.-noon, in front of the National Trade Centre, Exhibition Place

(Take the Bathurst streetcar to the Princess Gates)

Mon. March 12

Harris and/or Snobelen are expected to be at the show.

9:30-11 a.m., in front of the National Trade Centre, Exhibition Place

The Sierra Club of Eastern Canada is launching its Ontario's Lying Legacy

campaign to unmask the Harris government's so-called Ontario's Living Legacy

plans for the province's parks. The government is spending almost $300,000

of public money on its Ontario's Living Legacy booth at the Sportsmen's

Show! Harris is desperate to improve his environmental image including

lying about his park policy which includes sport hunting, commercial

trapping, snowmobiling, and potentially mining and hydroelectric development

in all new parks. Harris parks are no parks at all! The Sierra Club of

Eastern Canada will have a counter exhibit with its new Ontario's Lying

Legacy posters outside the show. Come out & join us!

Request from Yugoslavia

-----------------------

Hi,

In Yugoslavia there are no newspapers that would write about animal

liberation and protection, vivisection... Sure, there are some

(mainstream) magazines about animals, but those are not the issues they are

interested in. Some of us are trying to make a change. Yet, there are so

many difficulties that we come across. Largest one is money for printing,

Xeroxing etc. Unfortunately, we realized we don't know so much about some

topics. Also, since the literature from foreign countries is simply too

expensive for us, we hardly know what's going on in other countries.

Therefore we've decided to write to some organizations and to ask them for

help. If there are any flyers, booklets, newspapers ... you need no more,

could you, please, send them to us?!? Thank you!
