ALERT: Prevent cockfighting in Oklahoma

BACKGROUND (Source: Fund for Animals)

 

On March 12, the Oklahoma State Senate passed SJR 12, a dangerous measure that

could give constitutional protections to cockfighting, rodeos, trapping, and

hunting. SJR 12 would also nullify an initiative petition to ban cockfighting,

which was signed by 100,000 Oklahoma voters!

Please oppose SJR 12

 

Dear Honorable Governor / Representative,

 

I am writing to urge that you vote against SJR 12 that would nullify an

initiative petition to ban cockfighting signed by 100,000 Oklahoma voters. Thus

SJR 12 would make a total mockery of the will of voters.

 

Also, cockfighting is a bloodsport that is equivalent to animal cruelty and has

rightly been banned in 47 states. Please make a compassionate decision and

oppose cockfighting and SJR 12.
