Guest guest
hi, I'm new to the list also. I'm Dodo (it's short for Dorothy, and it's also the name of my zine), I live in Washington DC, and I'm 32. I'm vegan at home, but still have dairy or fish sometimes when I'm traveling (which I'm addicted to) or out with my boyfriend. He eats meat, though WAY less of it than when he met me -- and I've just gotten him to start putting rice milk on his morning cereal (a breakthrough!) Anyway, I'm psyched for this forum to learn from vegan folks and bolster my activist side. I'd also love to share recipes if that is an appropriate use of this forum -- would especially love to get that sweet potato/spinach soup recipe I just read about! namaste, dodo " I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library. Guest guest
Welcome to the group Dodo! Here's the sweet potato/spinach recipe I was talking about... Deborah Lentil Dahl Soup from Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at Home by Mollie Katzen Soak overnight, and cook 1 1/2 cup red lentils or yellow split peas. Discard cooking water. Sauté in 2 cups water: 2 diced sweet potatoes, 1/2 head caulifour, 2 sweet peppers with: 1 tbsp. curry powder, 1 tsp. cumin, 2 tbsp. grated ginger. When soft, add: 2 more cups water, 10 oz. washed and de-stemmed, chopped spinach, juice of 1 lemon and 1 1/2 tsp. salt
