I weaned her at 1 1/2 years old, and a few months later, we began eating vegan. She was quite sick until we went vegan, and after a few weeks of eating low-fat, no-sugar, whole foods vegan, she became very healthy and remained one of the healthiest kids her age. The only other kids who were as healthy were kids who tended to naturally have similar eating habits by their own choice. As you may know, many kids refuse meat when they are young. Her genetic potential for height was between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 6 inches. She levelled out at 5 feet 4 inches, right in the middle. She is beautiful, smart, popular, talented, strong, funny, thoughtful, assertive and sensitive. In other words, everything I could ever hope for in a daughter, and more. We didn't start taking B12 until she was finished growing, and I think that might have given her a little more height if we had started taking it sooner. There are lots more kids who have been raised vegan. John Robbins raised his child vegan for example, I believe Dr. John McDougall's third child was raised vegan from conception while his first 2 were raised vegan from early childhood. On www.vegsource there are links to vegetarian parenting resources, where you could get lots more names and dates of vegan kids. What part of the world are you in?
