What is it?

I've heard that it is filtered through bone char, which makes it

not-vegan indirectly. The sugar itself is vegan, but because of

the process, not-vegan.

Anyway, I agree with something someone else said about how this

is only an issue for the refined white and " brown " stuff.

" Brown " sugar is just white that has had molasses added back in

afterwards, so it isn't what it seems to be, even demerarra.

I think the best form of sucrose based sugar is the " dehydrated

cane juice " type. It comes under different brand names, but it

is generally coarser than " brown " although it is a similar

colour. It is also WAY more expensive! :-) I don't complain

about that as I feel the expense is just a little more incentive

to focus on eating healthy, basic whole food.

The only white sugar I've heard of that doesn't filter through Bone

Marrow is Jack Frost Brand.
