Guest guest
Hi All - Here is the response I received from eBay re: the Alaskan wolf auction, followed by my response to eBay. I understand that the auction does not violate any eBay policy, however, I urge you to consider implementing a policy prohibiting the auction of any animal, directly or indirectly, especially where the auction results in the death of an animal or animal cruelty. eBay is a wonderful place to trade with folks of like interests and I have had great experiences and won several bids successfully, but please be advised that I will not continue to participate in any eBay auction until eBay takes serious consideration into adopting a policy that prohibits auctions which contribute to animal cruelty. Thank you for taking the time to listen to a concerned consumer. I appreciate the chance to answer your question concerning auctions for hunting trips. The auctions I assume you are referring to offer a sanctioned wolf hunt rather than any wildlife product, and are therefore not in violation of eBay policies. If you still have concerns, you may want to contact the appropriate government (like the Alaskan Department of Fish and Game) or law enforcement agency regarding this issue. eBay has a longstanding policy of providing full cooperation with law enforcement agencies and we will gladly assist them in an investigation of unlawful conduct. Law enforcement agencies can quickly contact eBay by fax at (408) 558-7468 or by email at leo. Please remember that only law enforcement agencies should contact us through these means. Emails and/or faxes directed to these areas that are not from law enforcement will be routed to the appropriate mailbox or individual accordingly and may cause delays in our response time. You may contact the Alaskan Department of Fish and Game at: Alaska Department of Fish and Game P.O. Box 25526 Juneau, Alaska 99802-5526 (907) 465-4100 or visit their web site at: http://www.state.ak.us/local/akpages/FISH.GAME/adfghome.htm If you have any further questions, please visit our help pages. You will receive instant help. If you are still unable to find the answer you were looking for, feel free to contact us. In the help pages there are direct links to customer support so that you will be able to send us your question directly from there. This cause is for the lives of 5 wolves who are being auctioned off to the highest bidder. The highest bidder will then travel to Alaska, hook up with Castle Rock Outfitters, who then take the highest bidder out to 'hunt' and kill 5 wolves in the name of Ted Nugents Kids Kamp (TNKK). All proceeds from this 'hunt' go to TNKK. These wolves are going to be killed so some children can go to Ted Nugents Kids Kamp , and I find this to be outrageous. Because eBay is not following their own terms of service and policies, which is to follow the endangered species act, I will no longer be buying or selling from eBay until they change their practices. Sincerely, Sarah
