Guest guest
The commercial MEAT FACTORY is a weekly politics/obscure music radio show. It is our intention to bring our community awareness about human, earth and animal liberation as well as fill your mind with enticing and obscure, yet sometimes absurd music. The show airs Fridays from 5-7 pm PST on WPMD 1700 AM and worldwide on the web at www.cerritos.edu/wpmd The first hour is our community forum and the second belongs to the noise. WPMD 1700 AM is available to over half a million residents of Cerritos, Artesia, Bellflower, Paramount, Downey, La Mirada, Norwalk, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood and parts of Long Beach & Whittier, California. You have been added to our mailing list because we felt you'd be interested in the music or issues we have to express. This list will consist of one email per week informing you of subject matters as well as talk and music radio guests. This weeks guests include the following people: Doctors Against Dog Labs - Dr. Nancy Harrison or Larry Hansen www.doctorsagainstdoglabs.com Historically medical schools in the United States have used dog labs to teach basic physiology and pharmacology. Today the trend in medical education is away from using dog labs for demonstration purposes. Most of the nation's leading medical schools have developed alternative methods for teaching these disciplines. In dog labs, students or instructors typically anesthetize a dog, cut open the dog's chest and use its beating heart to demonstrate principles of physiology and pharmacology. At the end of the demonstration, they kill the dog. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - Joe Haptas www.peta.com Joe Haptas is the Vegan Campaign Coordinator for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the largest animal rights organization in the world. Joe played a key role in PETA''s successful " " McCruelty to Go " " campaign which coerced fast-food behemoth McDonald''s to become the first corporation in U.S. history to adopt animal welfare guidelines, as well as subsequent PETA campaigns against Burger King, Wendy's and Safeway, which caused those corporations to follow McDonald's lead. This weeks music hour will feature songs by The Residents, Coil, Current 93, Psychic TV, Dead Voices on Air, Fly Pan Am, Edward Ka'Spel and more....... If you ever miss a show, they will be available at our website, www.hop-frog.com/thecommercialmeatfactory within days of airing.
