Guest guest
Has anyone heard this before? Someone forwarded me some info mentioning that vinegar is sometimes clarified with the same sorta stuff they use for wineand other alcohol, etc.. This link mentions it under 'clarifying agent'. http://www.dfwnetmall.com/veg/hiddenanimalsinfood.htm Any thoughts? Thanks! - Dave
Guest guest
>Any thoughts? I haven't done any research into it yet, but just off the top of my head, I think that's a questionable claim. Regular white vinegar is distilled which leaves all solids behind without the use of filters. Types that have solids in the bottom, like raw apple cider vinegar aren't filtered. However, for other types, it's an interesting and possibly important question, so I have just sent an email question about this to Heinz who make a large number of clear, non-white vinegars. I've always had good response quality and quickly, from any of the food manufacturers I've asked questions, so I fully expect to have an answer from them within a few days or sooner. I'll post whatever they say. Deborah
