CMF continues with Police Brutality and 2 MORE MURDERS

The commercial MEAT FACTORY is a weekly politics/obscure music radio show. It is

our intention to bring our community awareness about human, earth and animal

liberation as well as fill your mind with enticing and obscure, yet sometimes

absurd music.

 

The show airs Fridays from 5-7 pm PST on WPMD 1700 AM and worldwide on the web

at www.cerritos.edu/wpmd The first hour is our community forum and the second

belongs to the noise. WPMD 1700 AM is available to over half a million residents

of Cerritos, Artesia, Bellflower, Paramount, Downey, La Mirada, Norwalk,Hawaiian

Gardens, Lakewood and parts of Long Beach & Whittier, California.

Greg Jordan - Father of John Jordan who was unarmed and slain by the Long Beach

P. D.

 

Police said they believed at the time that Jordan was an armed robbery suspect

named Troy Cunningham, and that he had a weapon. No weapon was found after the

nearly four-block chase through a working-class residential neighborhood in

North Long Beach.

 

The same department is dealing with two more cases currently involving

African-Americans. They both had knives.

 

Glenda Lee Rymer, 49, died after being hit with a " less lethal " beanbag shot as

police tried to disarm her after a domestic dispute in June 2001.

 

In January, police shot mentally ill Marcella Byrd, 57, after she left a market

without paying for groceries. Four grown officers could not take down Marcella

Byrd without killing her.

LOS ANGELES, CA - July 27, 2002 - " On July 6, 2002, the same day of the Donovan

Jackson beating, a diagnosed schizophrenic man was MURDERED by the Los Angeles

Police Department, " says the family of Cecil Rudolph Menifield. Cecil was being

fatally shot in the name of the law while playing hopscotch and peek-a-boo on

79th Street.

 

" There is no EXCUSE or JUSTIFICATION for the out right execution of a mentally

ill man who poses no serious threat to anybody. Cecil has 9 gunshot wounds in

his back, and 3 gunshot wounds to the back of the head, " says the family. The

family has made requests for police reports, coroner reports and have been told

that " the police report is not releasable " because an officer was shot. The

coroners office told the mother of Cecil that she cannot obtain a report for at

least 60 days, although they admit the report is ready.
